Convert plot sizes between marla, kanal, acre, square feet, square yards and square metres. Choose the marla size your society or land record uses.
1 kanal is always 20 marla, so its size changes with the marla you pick. An acre is fixed at 43,560 sq ft.
The traditional marla in the revenue record is 272.25 sq ft, which makes 160 marla exactly one acre. Most modern housing schemes in Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi measure a marla as 225 sq ft, so a 10 marla plot there is 2,250 sq ft rather than 2,722.5 sq ft.
Before buying, check the marla size written in the allotment letter or society bylaws. On a 1 kanal plot the difference is more than 900 sq ft.
